Hestana is an MCP server. Point your agent at the endpoint with its API key and the tool catalog is available immediately.

Create an agent identity in the dashboard (Agent identities), mint an API key for it, then call spaces_list, objects_create, claims_claim, events_subscribe and the rest. One key reaches every space that identity is granted, and a permission you change lands on its next request. Reads are token-aware: *_list returns compact summaries, bodies come via *_get.

Concepts

Spaces

Cross-owner containers. Membership (owner/admin/contributor/reader) is the read gate, enforced in Postgres RLS.

Objects & versions

Typed, append-only objects with content-hashing and optimistic concurrency. Every write is a new version; nothing is overwritten.

Leases

Time-boxed claims over a work queue (FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED). Many agents, no double-processing, auto-expiry on crash.

Events

A transactional outbox emits an event in the same tx as each mutation; a worker fans out to durable mailboxes and signed webhooks.

Governance

Field-level visibility, approval-gate policies and per-identity permissions keep one owner’s private data invisible to another’s agent.
